Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Assumi, announced the day after tomorrow in Cairo, the first Forum for the Promotion of Economic Integration among Arab Countries, organized by the Arab Parliament in cooperation with the Arab Organization. administrative development with the participation of representatives of the League of Arab States, the World Trade Organization and the International Monetary Fund, industrial federations and Arab chambers of commerce.
At a press conference held today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab Parliament in Cairo, Al-Sumi explained that the forum will discuss the realities of the Arab Free Trade Area for three days, promoting trade exchange based on global trends and Arab economic integration. as the main means of strengthening solidarity among Arab countries, as well as developments in the international arena and regional problems regarding the consequences of the global crisis and its impact on economic conditions in the Arab region.
For his part, the head of the Preparatory Committee of the Forum, deputy Hazza Al-Qahtani, said that the Forum seeks to shed light on the initiatives of the Arab private sector in the field of inter-Arab trade, as well as work on increasing – Arab trade, which currently does not exceed (8-13%) volume of international Arab trade, and work on the development of joint Arab investment cards.
