The General Conference of the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science “ALECSO” – with the participation of a number of ministers and heads of national committees of education, culture and science in the Arab countries at its meeting, which took place today at its 26th session in Tunisia – praised the leading role of the Kingdom Saudi Arabia has chaired the Executive Council since he was elected President 10 months ago.
The General Conference confirmed that the presentation of the report presented by the Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Chairman of the ALECSO Executive Board, Hani bin Mokbel Al Mokbel, indicates the importance of a qualitative shift in the work of the Executive Board. , and the concomitant strengthening of the confidence of the Arab Member States in the ability to lead the transformation in the organization, which led the Member States to participate at this stage, to include their participation in all areas of the organization’s work in order to serve it to strengthen its programs and partnerships in the Arab world.
The General Conference also commended the quality efforts made by the Executive Board, which worked in the new environment under the concept of joint Arab action, in accordance with a clear methodology and working spirit based on complementary work between the Executive Board and the leadership of the organization.
The General Conference commended the initiative of the Chairman of the Board to develop a roadmap for the Executive Board, which was built according to a clear methodology based on the participation of countries in the formation of a common Arab vision, in order to support and enable the organization to achieve its goals, performance, efficiency and financial sustainability. .
The ALECSO General Conference highlighted the importance of the outcomes of the Executive Board meeting at its 116th session in Al-Ula last January, which it has been working on to continue over the past period, which has led to the start of work to diversify the organization’s funding sources and development of the Council’s internal system Develop a partnership strategy, improve marketing and media, and develop awards.
During the meeting, the General Conference authorized the Executive Board to adopt a number of outcomes from the Board’s meeting at its session held in Al-Ula, including a strategic partnership plan, diversification of the organization’s self-financing sources, and a strategy for expanding the role of media and marketing in the organization.
The General Conference meeting also discussed the report of the Director General on the implementation of the organization’s programs for the 2020-2022 session. and on the implementation of non-programme activities between the 25th and 26th regular sessions of the General Conference.
The meeting reviewed the draft Arab plan for education in emergencies and crises, and approved the final report of the state administration, external centers and special funds for the 2021 financial year, reports of supervisory authorities on the final report for the financial year. 2021 AD, Financial Status and Status of Member State Contributions to the Budget of the Organization, and Draft Budget Special Expenditures of the Institute of Arab Studies and Studies for the financial cycle 2023-2024 and draft budget of the Arab Center for Arabization, translation, authorship and publication for the financial cycle 2023-2024.
