Mattias Pogba, the older brother of French football star Paul Pogba, and four others have been temporarily jailed on charges of blackmailing an Italian Juventus player, according to a source close to the case, after they appeared before an investigating judge on Saturday.
Matias Pogba, 32, has admitted he was behind a video posted on social media in four languages (French, Italian, English and Spanish) on August 27 in which he promised to reveal “big things” about the world champion. .
The other four are close to the Pogba family and range in age from 27 to 36. Five people have been detained since Tuesday and Wednesday.
Paul Pogba, 29, filed a complaint with the Turin prosecutor’s office on July 16, saying he was the target of a €13 million extortion.
