English club Chelsea announced on Wednesday that they have signed Portuguese international striker Joao Felix on loan from Atlético Madrid until the end of the season, in addition to paying his monthly salary.
Chelsea are one of the greatest teams in the world and I hope they help them achieve their goals, Felix told the club’s website in west London. “I am very happy to play at Stamford Bridge.
In turn, Atlético Madrid indicated that “the Portuguese striker, who has extended his contract with our club for another year, will take on a new professional challenge in the Premier League”, and that he has reached an “agreement with Chelsea” to loan Joao Felix until end of the current season.
Felix moved to the Spanish capital club in 2019 in a massive €125m deal with Benfica. He played 131 matches with him, scoring 34 goals and providing 18 assists, and helped to win the Spanish title in the 2021 season.
