Ahmed Al-Mubarka, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Iraq, expressed his gratitude to all the sports federations of the Gulf countries, who played an important role in supporting and ensuring the success of the 25th Gulf Championship, which is currently hosted by the city of Basra. “The Gulf Federations were in a very great position and excellent cooperation to bring this historic event to Iraq, as the specialized committees of the Gulf federations were constantly visiting Iraq in the months leading up to the tournament, including the specialized team from the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, which had the advantage in tracking the progress of the preparations at the sports venues and the extent to which they are ready to hold the tournament on schedule, and this communication and cooperation continues even after the tournament has been held, and this has had a great impact.”
He added: “Iraq is not a novice until it finds a foothold on the ladder of history and is not short of resources. Of course, the ultimate goal of the 25th Gulf Cup in Basra is to return Iraq to its natural position, which it should be, and then launch into wider and wider places.”
The Minister of Youth and Sports of Iraq confirmed that the Gulf 25 Championships has come a long way with the presence of the GCC teams and their glorification of Iraq, and most importantly, the reunification of the GCC and the exchange of conversations with all Iraqi loved ones and guests.
Al Mubarka explained that the Gulf 25 championship is a historic event in Iraq and an important opportunity to restore the spirit and reunite the brothers, although time was of the essence for us and we struggled with time to complete all preparations after the formation of the Prime Minister’s government. Minister of Iraq, Mr. Muhammad Shiya Al-Sudani, her great interest in this case and her attentive attitude to all its details, and – praise God – we began to reap the benefits, seeing that the brothers from the Gulf countries are happy to organize this event on earth Iraq.
In conclusion, the Iraqi Minister welcomed all the Gulf fans who came to Basra to support their teams in Gulf 25, expressing his gratitude to them for their joy in the warm welcome of their people in Basra, calling on everyone to encourage and enjoy their second country, Iraq.
