Jazan University today hosted a cross country championship as part of the Kingdom’s 92nd National Day celebrations, with 108 students representing over 16 colleges participating. The race spanned 5 kilometers from the Al-Sadafa roundabout in Jizan City to the end point at the Student Residence Stadium in University City, in the presence of a number of faculty leaders.
After the end of the tournament, the Dean of Student Affairs of Jazan University, Dr. Yahya Fakihi, led the winning colleges in first place, with the College of Science coming in first, the College of Engineering coming in second, and the College of Business. Administration took third place.
The winners were also honored with individual results for the top ten places, in addition to rewarding race judges, college leaders and race organizers.
Dr. Faqihi explained that the organization of the race carries an implicit message through its slogan: Promising youth and growth of determination, as well as educating students and society about the importance of cohesion and patriotism, indicating that the event will support many activities in its outreach context for our youth and society.
