Leicester City Football Club announced today, Saturday, the contract extension of their striker Jamie Vardy until June 2024 to protect him from Manchester United attempts to include him this summer.
Press reports indicated that Manchester United had suddenly turned to Jimmy Vardy to sign him, in anticipation of the departure of his Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo in the last days of the current summer transfer period.
Leicester City have said in a statement that the 35-year-old veteran striker Vardy is under contract until the summer of 2024.
Jamie Vardy joined Leicester City in 2012 from Fleetwood Town on a three-year deal.
The English striker extended his contract with the Foxes in August 2014 until the summer of 2018 before extending it again in August 2018 for four new years until 2022.
