Defense Minister HRH Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz today presided over the nineteenth meeting of the Joint Council of Defense Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which was attended by Their Highnesses, Excellencies, Ministers of Defense in the GCC states, and His Excellency the Secretary General of the Arab Cooperation Council Gulf States Dr. Nayef bin Falah Al-Hajraf and His Excellency Commander of the Joint Military Command Lieutenant General Eid bin Awad Al-Shalawi at Secretariat Headquarters in Riyadh. At the beginning of the meeting, HRH Prince Khalid bin Salman delivered an opening speech in which he conveyed to the members of the Council the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect them.
In his speech, His Highness the Minister of Defense emphasized the strengthening of various aspects of cooperation between the GCC states. In order to preserve the savings of his homeland and the conquests of his peoples, to increase his achievements and realize the aspirations and ambitions of his leaders, His Highness confirmed the desire of the Council to raise the level of its armed forces to the level – by the grace of God. – an impregnable dam and a protective shield to counter risks and threats, ensure the security and stability of the region, protect national interests and economic resources.
At the end of the meeting, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman thanked Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Ministers of Defense of the Gulf States and His Excellency the Secretary General for the sincere and sincere efforts being made to develop and strengthen the joint defensive action.
His Highness asked God that the efforts be crowned with success for the benefit of the people of the Arab states of the Persian Gulf and their homelands, and that he maintain the safety and security of the states of the Persian Gulf under the shadow of their wise leaders, and give them help, success and pay.
It is noteworthy that the meeting touched upon many topics of joint military operations included in the agenda, on which appropriate decisions and recommendations were adopted.
