Today, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, presided over the first joint ministerial meeting of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and Central Asia, which was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Gulf. States in Riyadh.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness the Minister for Foreign Affairs welcomed Their Highnesses and Excellencies to the first meeting in their second country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, appreciating the interest and cooperation of the participating countries in strengthening joint relations and taking them to a broader horizon.
In his opening remarks, His Highness stressed the importance of intensifying joint cooperation between the Gulf States and the countries of Central Asia in light of the challenges the world is facing, pointing out the importance of supporting all efforts aimed at reducing regional and international political tensions, adopting in accordance with international standards and creating conditions to promote economic recovery.
His Highness the Minister said that the countries of the Persian Gulf and Central Asia have great potential that will contribute to the growth and development of countries, pointing to the strategic position and diversity of natural resources, as well as human capital, that the countries of the region possess. .
His Highness expressed the keen interest of the Gulf and Central Asian countries to discuss the existing opportunities in trade, investment, tourism, energy and other fields as a starting point for strengthening joint cooperation, prosperity and growth for the country and people of the two regions.
He pointed to the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Gulf States and the countries of Central Asia in the face of pressing global challenges such as food security, energy security, increased preparedness for epidemics and overcoming the effects of climate change.
His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs explained that the Gulf and Central Asia ministerial meeting is of great importance for the exchange of views on regional and international developments of mutual interest in order to maintain stability and strengthen the foundations of security in the Gulf. and Central Asia, as well as international peace and security.
At the end of his speech, he reaffirmed the importance of continuous cooperation between the states of the Persian Gulf and the countries of Central Asia, expressing the hope that the joint action plan (2023-2026) prepared by the countries participating in the meeting will help realize the hopes and aspirations of the countries and peoples of the region.
