Organization of Islamic Cooperation welcomes UN General Assembly resolutions on the Palestinian issue

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation welcomed the resolutions adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on the Palestinian Question, especially the resolution asking the International Court of Justice to issue a fatwa on the nature of the occupation and to examine the legal consequences arising from Israel’s continued violation of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and its prolonged occupation by the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including the city of Jerusalem. The Organization commended the positions of the countries that contributed to supporting and funding this resolution, reaffirming their commitment to international law and in line with their historical positions based on the principles of law, justice and peace.
