Several people were slightly wounded by white weapons Wednesday at the Gare du Nord train station in Paris after they were attacked by a man who was immediately arrested by police, according to police sources. The incident happened at around 06:45. local time (05:45 GMT) inside the station. For an unknown reason, the man stabbed several people with a knife. According to the same source, the police took control of him with weapons.
The attacker received minor injuries, he was assisted by the medics who arrived at the scene.
The Gare du Nord station receives many trains from the suburbs and other regions of France, as well as international services such as the Thalys between Paris and Brussels and the Eurostar between Paris and London.
The wounded are counted.
French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanan commented on the situation on Twitter, writing: “Thank you to the security forces for the courageous and effective response.”
