The Saudi-Belgian Parliamentary Friendship Committee was held in the Shura Council, headed by a member of the council and head of the committee; Dr. Ayman Bensala Fadel, meeting with the Chairman of the Committee for Home Affairs, Public Relations and Services and Chairman of the Committee on Legislative Affairs of the Belgian Federal Parliament, Head of the Belgian Delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union Mr. Samuel Cogolatti, and Member of the Belgian Federal Parliament Mr. Pieter de Rovere at the headquarters of the Belgian Federal Parliament in the capital Brussels today, on the sidelines of a Council delegation’s visit to the European Parliament.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Ayman Fadel, stressed the importance of strengthening the joint work between the Shura Council and the Belgian Federal Parliament in order to contribute to the strengthening of parliamentary relations between them, which will lead to the strengthening of relations between the two kingdoms in various fields.
For his part, Mr. Samuel Kogulati pointed out during the meeting the danger of terrorist fighters in the region possessing weapons in light of the repeated attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and international shipping lanes, as well as their impact on oil supplies, praising the role of the Kingdom in countering these attacks. and stopping those terrorist attacks that she becomes aware of.
The meeting discussed a number of issues of mutual interest between the two countries, in order to achieve common interests between them, as well as to promote the development of bilateral relations in various fields, especially parliamentary relations between the Shura Council and the Belgian Federal Parliament.
The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Jindan, as well as members of the Council, members of the Saudi-Belgian Parliamentary Friendship Organization Committee, Dr. Khalid bin Mahmoud Zubair, Raeda bint Abdullah Abunayan, Dr. Mutaib bin Ayed Al-Mutairi and Dr. Hadi bin Ali Al-Yami, Huda bint Abdul Rahman Al-Khalisi.
On the other hand, members of the Council, members of the Saudi-Belgian Parliamentary Friendship Committee Raeda Abunayan and Huda bint Abdul Rahman Al-Khalisi had another meeting with Member of the Belgian Federal Parliament Jodel Lykans at the parliament’s headquarters in the capital, Brussels, today.
The meeting addressed a number of topics, including those related to women in Saudi Arabia in the concept of the Kingdom 2030, as well as guarantees of women’s empowerment, especially in relation to the rules, legislation, the level of empowerment that women in Saudi Arabia have received, and the legislative role of the Council shura in the area of women’s empowerment.
The meeting also discussed a number of issues of mutual interest between the two countries, with the aim of improving Saudi-Belgian relations in various fields, especially parliamentary relations between the Shura Council and the Belgian Federal Parliament, and to improve coordination and communication.
