Sylvester Stallone’s action thriller Alarum has officially joined the Starz streaming library this October, offering a high-profile, if critically panned, bridge for viewers awaiting the return of the Taylor Sheridan-produced series Tulsa King. Despite the star power of Stallone and co-star Scott Eastwood, the film arrives with the rare and dubious distinction of a 0% critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The film follows a married couple of retired assassins, played by Eastwood and Willa Fitzgerald, who have gone into hiding in a remote cabin. Their peace is shattered when they are hunted by international operatives over a stolen hard drive, forcing them to utilize their lethal skill sets once again. For Stallone, Alarum marks a consecutive entry in a difficult critical streak, following the similarly rated 2024 film Armor.

The timing of the film’s streaming debut appears strategically aligned with the countdown for Tulsa King Season 4. As Starz fills its October 2026 schedule with action-heavy content, fans of the “Sheridan-verse” are increasingly looking for stopgap entertainment.
While Stallone’s latest effort struggles with critics, other major streaming titles are finding success through radical rebranding. Paramount+ recently saw a massive surge in viewership for South America, which was revealed to be a satirical rebranding of South Park for its 29th season. The premiere of the renamed series reached 4.2 million viewers within three days of its release.
The South America moniker was crafted by creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker as a satirical commentary on recent political suggestions regarding the renaming of New Mexico. This meta-narrative has kept the long-running series at the top of the streaming charts, even as action fans pivot toward Starz to catch Stallone’s latest performance before he returns to the role of Dwight “The General” Manfredi.
