Steven Gerrard Becomes Fourth-Highest-Paid Manager in the World at Al-Ettifak

On 3 July, Englishman Steven Gerrard signed a two-season contract as the technical director of Al-Ettifak, making him the manager of the fourth-highest-paid coach in the world.

The Mirror, a British newspaper, reported that Gerrard’s annual earnings at Al-Ettifak are £15.2 million. This places him just below the top three highest-paid managers in the world, with Argentinean Diego Simeone of Atlético Madrid leading the pack at £30 million per year. Following Simeone is Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, who earns £20 million annually. Jurgen Klopp, manager of Liverpool, comes in third with £16 million. Gerrard’s new contract places him in fourth position.

Mauricio Pochettino, the Argentinean coach of Chelsea, secures the seventh position with £10.4 million. Carlo Ancelotti, the coach of Real Madrid, ranks eighth with £9.6 million. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the manager of Manchester United, is ninth with £9 million, and Simone Inzaghi, the manager of Inter Milan, concludes the top ten with £8.8 million.
