The Aramco Golf Team Championship, presented by the State Investment Fund, with a total prize fund of one million US dollars, kicks off today, Thursday, in Jeddah and will last until November 12th.
Teams will compete on the first 36 holes and the team leader selects a player through a pre-event selection system, and then another professional player is added to the team in addition to the amateur player.
Teams with the best score on one hole will be eligible for a significant portion of the $500,000 prize pool.
Individual tournaments were also allocated cash prizes, which also amounted to US$500,000.
The tournament program includes a day of activities for women on the second day of the tournament, tomorrow, Friday, to provide a number of special events for women throughout the day.
These activities include minigolf and other fun games for children, as well as educational activities led by golf coaches in Saudi Arabia who will be giving private lessons for women from 15:00 to 18:00.
