Following a series of qualifications that began in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the 2022 Red Bull Car Park Drift Championship has taken place in a total of 17 countries in search of elite drifters to represent their countries at the world final in Jeddah next month. From Jamaica to Mauritius, the series also visited Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Kenya, South Africa, Poland, Estonia, Georgia and Azerbaijan, in addition to Qatar, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon and the host country. Saudi Arabia. Given the talent and the number of countries participating this year, it will be the largest in the history of the tournament.

The holding of a major event in the Kingdom comes at a time when the popularity of drifting around the world is steadily growing, and more people are following the sport, and many are looking for its unique events to experience an atmosphere of enthusiasm and anticipation. .

One of the most prominent secrets to the global success of the Red Bull Car Park Drift Championship is the lead role of motorsport champion and Guinness World Record holder for the longest drift, Abdo Fegali. The Red Bull athlete will be the main drift driver, watching the race in Jeddah, giving instructions to the competitors and making his own adjustments to the track for the fans.

Commenting on the upcoming global final in a month, Abdo Fegali said he was counting the seconds and was looking forward to making his mark on the circuit that will host the competition in Jeddah.

Fegali said: “Returning to Saudi Arabia is like a dream and we are looking forward to the start of the event. We know that Saudi Arabia is the country that loves drifting the most in the region and we also know that the sport is growing. With more skills in the Kingdom, we look forward to strong competition and giving these riders the opportunity to showcase their skills on a dedicated track.

“We also hope to give drifters who are still amateurs a chance to become champions… world champions. This event inspires them, and we will soon see how all this will come true.”

With the participation of the elite drifters of the world, the competition is expected to be very intense. Among the well-known names on the list of participants are such stars of the region as Ahmed Daham (UAE), Haytham Al Hadidi (Oman) and Anas Al-Helou (Jordan). They set their sights on winning the championship, which is also the goal of last year’s world champion Ahmed Al Ameri (Qatar). However, Arab racers will face some serious competition from abroad, especially from Poland’s Piotr Wiczek, who has a rich track record in drifting and holds local awards in his country and international awards in the US, Latvia and Austria.

The World Finals will take place in Jeddah and motorsport fans in Saudi Arabia will be able to cheer on three of their compatriots who will represent the Kingdom. The identity of these riders will be revealed after qualifying on December 3rd.
