European Union Council President Charles Michel announced that EU leaders agreed on Monday to ban Russian oil exports to the 27-country bloc.
“This immediately includes more than two-thirds of Russia’s oil imports, depriving it of a huge source of funding for the war machine,” Michel tweeted.
He added that the leaders also agreed to block Sberbank, Russia’s largest bank, from accessing the international SWIFT system for financial transactions and to ban three other Russian state radio stations.
