Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian President, said that the status of the special military operation after the announcement of partial mobilization in Russia has not changed.
“No, this is a special operation,” Peskov said, answering a question about whether partial mobilization means that a special operation in Ukraine can now be called a war.
Peskov noted that the government will prepare a document on who has the right to defer partial mobilization, stressing that the status of hostilities has not changed.
It is noteworthy that a partial mobilization of reserves was announced in Russia by a presidential decree of 21 September.
According to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, a total of 300 thousand reserve soldiers will be called up, which is only a little more than 1% of all mobilization resources in the Russian Federation.
