Mohammed Shami, the player of cricket India’s most prominent Muslim hit out to internet trolls saying they are neither real fans or real Indians, in his first comments from facing vitriolic online abuse after T20 World Cup defeat against Pakistan last year.

Shami, 31, became the main target of abuse after India was beaten by son grand rival last October on their way to an embarrassing and early exit from the marquee tournament.

The clashes of cricket between Hindu-majority India and Muslim-majority Pakistan frequently heighten tensions between neighbours, who have fought three wars since 1947.

After the loss of India, thousands of flooded hate messages social media, including Shami’s Instagram account, calling him a traitor and alleging he took money for throw the game.

In an interview with the indian express on On Monday, Shami said that those who trolled him were neither”real fans neither were they real Indians.”

“When people with unknown social media profiles or even one with some followers pointing fingers at someone, he has nothing to lose,” the paceman said.

“For them, nothing is at stake because they are nothing…we don’t need to hire with their.”

Shami added that he doesn’t have need for prove his loyalty to India for anyone.

“We know what we are, we are not need say what India means to us because we represent the country and fight for the country.

“So on does not need for prove anything for anyone saying or reacting to such trolls.”

Since he did son debut in 2013, Shami took 209 wickets in 57 Trial matches striking rate of nearly 50.

He is currently ostracized at cause with a wrist injury corn added than the current Indian pace attack was the best never.

“With the kind of Test match bowling we have now, I don’t think we’ve ever had such a time in our cricket history,” he said.
