British media reported on Thursday that English club Tottenham are preparing to boost their attacking arsenal by signing Brazilian striker Everton Richarlison for £60m ($73m).
Athletic’s website states that an initial £50m has been agreed, in addition to £10m in bonuses.
Richarlison, 25, joined Everton from Watford in 2018 for $50 million.
The Samba Dancer scored 53 goals in 152 games for the Toffees, including 6 goals in the last nine games of last season, to contribute to the Merseyside club’s survival in the Premier League.
The BBC and Sky Sports said Everton needed to close the deal on Thursday to determine the budget for the fiscal year ending June 30.
Everton have lost £372m in the last three years.
Premier League rules say clubs could lose £105m over three years before restrictions are lifted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
A move to Tottenham will satisfy Richarlison’s Champions League ambitions, but he will have to face serious competition to establish himself and play regularly in the presence of attacking duo Harry Kane and South Korean Son Heung-min.
Spurs, under Italian coach Antonio Conte, signed Croatian striker Ivan Perisic from Inter, goalkeeper Freis Forster from Southampton and financial midfielder Yves Bisumu from Brighton on a free transfer.
