Turkey Adds Brotherhood Broadcasters to Terrorists List

The Turkish authorities decided to list broadcasters and journalists belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood living on its lands as terrorists after their involvement in incitement against Egypt was proven.

The Turkish authorities have included broadcasters and journalists of the G-87 Brotherhood on Terrorism and Threats to Public Security on the lists of international terrorism, while informing them that they are wanted by Egypt for belonging to a terrorist group.

Sources of Al-Arabiya.net confirmed that the Turkish authorities have detained about 34 members of the Muslim Brotherhood, including those who maintain accounts and pages on communication sites that incite against Egypt and stir up chaos inside the country, noting that the number stopped is the largest and warns that there will be another decision was made to deport them from the territory of the Turkish country.

Al Arabia.net it also became known that the detainees affiliated with the group were preparing to launch a third satellite channel affiliated with it by launching it in the Telegram application.

Turkish instructions

It is noteworthy that the Turkish authorities, as part of their efforts to rapprochement with Cairo and to prevent the Brotherhood’s attempts to criticize the Egyptian authorities, decided to stop the “Vision” program on the Al-Sharq satellite channel, hosted by journalist Hosama Al-Ghamri, and prevent its reappearance on the screens. or media platforms from Istanbul for non-compliance. Ankara instructed to prevent criticism of Egypt and its officials.

Al-Ghamri criticized the Egyptian authorities against the background of the death of the Minister of Defense and the former head of the Military Council of Egypt, Field Marshal Mohammed Hussein Tantawi.

In March last year, the Turkish authorities demanded that the Brotherhood’s satellite channels from Istanbul be restricted and its criticism of Egypt prevented, as well as the Haitham Abu Khalil Brotherhood’s media and television network.

He also suspended the programs of four Brotherhood broadcasters, Moataz Matar, Mohamed Nasser, Hamza Zobaa and artist Hisham Abdullah, and warned them not to violate his instructions.

It is noteworthy that in March last year, Turkey announced the resumption of diplomatic contacts with Egypt and instructed the Muslim Brotherhood media outlets operating in its territory to cease their activities.

On May 5 and 6, 2021, a Turkish delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Sadat Unal traveled to Cairo for the first visit of its kind since 2013 and held talks with Egyptian officials led by Deputy Foreign Minister Hamdi Sanad Loza to discuss rapprochement. and the return of the relationship.
