Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Friday that “Western countries have no choice” but to send heavy tanks into his country after no decision was made at a meeting of Kyiv’s allies in Ramstein, Germany. modern tanks, and every day we confirm more and more clearly that there is no other solution than to decide on tanks.
“Our partners have a principled position, they will support Ukraine for as long as it is necessary for our victory,” he added.
During a meeting at the American Ramstein base in Germany on Friday, the Western Allies failed to reach an agreement on the transfer of heavy tanks to Kyiv due to a lack of approval from Berlin.
On Friday, Zelensky praised the meeting, citing “hundreds of combat vehicles that have entered service” with Ukraine, as well as “important results related to missiles and air defense systems.”
Experts believe modern Western-designed heavy tanks will give Kyiv a decisive advantage in the looming battle in eastern Ukraine, where Russia has resumed its offensive after heavy setbacks this winter.
It is noteworthy that representatives of fifty countries participated in this meeting in order to agree on military assistance to Ukraine represented by Moscow.
